Chocolate Sauce with Meat

Chocolate Sauce with beef is a meal that appears fancier than it is.  Chocolate can help to enhance the rich flavour of beef and can be found in a lot of Stew recipes. But it is also perfect for clearing the chocolate received during Valentine's Day or Easter. 

Ingredients:
  • 50g dark chocolate
  • 1 chopped oniona
  • 150mL red wine
  • 100 mL water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1-2 tsp thyme leaves
  • 1-2 tsp potato starch
  • Salt, pepper and sugar


Method: 
  1. Fry the onion in a saucepan.
  2. Add the wine, sugar, water, stock and herbs; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the chocolate and stir until it melts.
  4. Thicken the sauce with potato starch mixed with a little water.
  5. Taste and add more salt, pepper or sugar if necessary.
