Chocolate Sauce with beef is a meal that appears fancier than it is. Chocolate can help to enhance the rich flavour of beef and can be found in a lot of Stew recipes. But it is also perfect for clearing the chocolate received during Valentine's Day or Easter.
- 50g dark chocolate
- 1 chopped oniona
- 150mL red wine
- 100 mL water
- 1 bay leaf
- 1-2 tsp thyme leaves
- 1-2 tsp potato starch
- Salt, pepper and sugar
- Fry the onion in a saucepan.
- Add the wine, sugar, water, stock and herbs; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the chocolate and stir until it melts.
- Thicken the sauce with potato starch mixed with a little water.
- Taste and add more salt, pepper or sugar if necessary.
